Julie Besançon (aka Miosh) was born in 1973 in Paris. She began producing art in a variety of mediums at a young age, eventually studying Modern Literature at the Sorbonne, Philosophy and Art History at the University of Paris VIII, and Fine Arts at the Marise Eloy School of Arts. She studied theater with the company L’Amour Fou. She explored photography as well as sculpture and then focused on painting and drawing. After completing her studies, she began performing as an electronic music DJ, and while pursuing visual arts, traveled to London, Ibiza, Tokyo, San Francisco, and New York City where she lived for seven years. She then lived in Woodstock from 2007 to 2012 when she moved back to Paris. She has been dedicating herself to the plastic arts, the theater, music and photography since then. Her collaboration with Olivier Degorce dates back to 1989.
